Intergenerational Alzheimers care

This is a quote from the Maria Shriver, Executive producer of The Alzheimer Project:

“I’ve seen inter-generational day care centers where toddlers and Alzheimer’s patients spend the day together. They eat together, they dance together, and have story-time together..."

Does anyone know why this isn't more popular?

Welcome!

Welcome to my blog! I've started this in order to serve as a clearing house for anyone interested in learning about and discussing the many innovative and holistic approaches to Elder Care, with a special interest in Alzheimers disease. My father, Alexander Lake, passed from Alzheimers in 2005. It was a simply horrifying experience, not only for him, but for the entire family. While he was eventually placed in a very good long term care facility, it was still heartbreaking to watch his emotional suffering. I believe there are novel, more advanced therapies available today that would have helped him cope with this devastating disease. I will never, ever forget his face pressed up against the glass of the picture window, tears in his eyes, waving goodbye to me. I dedicate this blog to his memory.
